GENERAL
We believe we are not only in the business of showing people spectacular sights of animals but rather in the business of creating humbling African experiences for our clients.
The aim of this page is simply to let you, our client know what value you receive on the hard earned money you part with, when coming on safari with us at Outlook s.g.e. Previous clients will tell you that the value is great and worth every cent you pay, just have a look at our testimonials page to confirm our remarks.
What is included on a safari with Outlook small group explorations?
- You can be guaranteed of our utmost desire to provide you with the best possible service, from the time you make your first enquiry right through to years after your safari where we communicate with each other as friends
- We will arrange, upon your request, pre and post tour accommodation for you, your friends and family in Johannesburg and Pretoria
- We can upon your request, transfer you from the airport to your hotel in Johannesburg or Pretoria at a nominal fee quoted to you before you book your safari
- We will personally pick you up from your hotel in Johannesburg or Pretoria on the morning of departure and drop you off again at your hotel, or in many cases at Johannesburg International Airport for any onward flights
- Our safaris usually start around 07h30 on the morning of departure
- If you don’t want to stay in Johannesburg then alternative arrangements can be made and we will pick you up from there too. If it is on our way down to the Kruger there will be no extra fee charged on your pick up and drop off
- Safaris depart with a minimum of 2 persons and depart on any day of the week, which is convenient for you
- All our guides are registered with FGASA (Field Guides Association of South Africa) and DEAT (the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism), some of them even holding level 3 qualifications, which is currently recognised as one of the highest qualifications in the tourism industry in South Africa
- Whilst on safari you are guaranteed that your guide is experienced, educated and truly passionate about the job he/she is doing. We enjoy showing you Africa and everything it has to offer and have no problems whatsoever departing with the information and experience we have built up through many years of guiding in Southern and East Africa
- Our equipment, from cutlery used for dinners and breakfasts right through to our vehicles and camping equipment is of the highest standard possible, we regularly upgrade and update our equipment to make sure it remains that way
- Vehicles are air-conditioned and believe us; this is quite welcome during our summer months
- We offer a complimentary bottle of South African wine on our safaris (not camping safaris), served with each dinner
- Dinners are prepared by your guide. We don’t like sending our clients off to the camps restaurants. As mentioned before we are in the business of providing an experience and we believe a restaurant detracts from this. Dinners are cooked outside, under the stars and traditional South African meals are prepared giving you a taste of our local cuisine
- We have recognised a few items, which have been in demand by previous clients, namely bottled mineral water, safari caps as mementos of your safari and traditional South African music. We do offer these three items on our safaris for purchase at prices below regular shop prices. Our aim in this venture is not one of profit but rather as a service to our clients therefore the prices we charge are simply to cover the costs of producing these items. To increase our status as a professional company, all these items are branded with Outlook logos and contact details
- Once on safari, practically everything is included. All you pay for is drinks, lunches and items of a personal nature. Having said that our breakfasts are usually such elaborate affairs that most people simply buy a toasted sandwich or small salad for lunch. You could almost call it brunch
- We don’t simply embark on morning and afternoon drives but believe that the secret in a truly holistic experience is to spend as much time as possible driving around the Kruger. Therefore we average about 9 to 10 hours a day driving around. Of course we are flexible in this and if you feel a little tired its no problem spending less time driving
- We encourage people to go on walks in the Kruger and can arrange this for you, unfortunately due to its popularity we cannot include walks in our prices as they are sometimes fully booked months in advance. Walks in the Kruger will usually cost you an extra R 200.00 per person
- We include a night drive on our semi-luxury and luxury safaris. Night drives are not offered on camping safaris because we try, wherever possible to stay in more private bush camps on camping safaris and unfortunately these camps do not offer night drives
- We include the panoramic route on our last day before arriving back in Johannesburg. This includes the Three Rondavels, Blyde River Canyon, Lisbon Waterfalls and Pilgrims Rest, undoubtedly some of South Africa’s most spectacular scenery
