3 Day Kruger Park Self Drive Safari
Day 1
Arriving at Johannesburg's OR Tambo International airport, you will proceed to pick up your hire car at one of the car rental desks.
Once you have freshened up and had some breakfast at one of the many restaurants available, you will start your journey heading in an easterly direction towards the Kruger National Park.
The trip to the Kruger Park will take you approximately 4-5 hours, depending on which route you choose to take. On route you will see some of the beautiful surroundings South Africa has to offer.
On arrival at the Gate, you will be required to check in. Your safari experience is about to begin, and you now get the true feeling that you are in Africa.
The drive to your camp will already give you the opportunity to view the variety of wildlife species within the Kruger Park. Arriving at the camp in the late afternoon you will check into your accommodation. You have time to relax before you either go to the local shop to purchase groceries for an evening barbeque or if you are not up to cooking, you can enjoy a prepared meal at the restaurant.
Day 2
The camp gates open at 6 am (depending on season) and this is an ideal opportunity to get an early start. Throughout the Kruger Park you will be able to stop at the various camps and picnic areas. Depending on the route you choose for the day, you can either return to your camp at midday for an afternoon siesta, or carry on throughout the day on your game drive, assuring that you are back in your camp before the gates closing time.
This will give you time to do some shopping for your evening meal or freshen up before going to the restaurant.
Day 3
Another early morning rise and packing the car for your return journey to Johannesburg. Before heading out of the Kruger Park, you will have the opportunity to maybe view some of the animals that have eluded you thus far. Unfortunately at some point you will exit the Kruger Park and start making your way back in a westerly direction. Depending on your time constraints you can do your return trip via the panorama route, where you w can stop at places like Graskop, Gods Window, and Pilgrims rest.
Should you wish to do the panorama route on your trip back to Johannesburg, it is recommended that you do not leave the Kruger Park later that 9 am.
